One thing that makes Kobe Bryant one of the best basketball players in NBA history is his relentless drive to improve his game year in and year out. This attribute of Kobe’s has drawn a lot of comparisons over the years to arguably the greatest player of all-time in Michael Jordan and rightfully so.
Most veteran players at Kobe’s age (33-years-old) or even past 30 start to breakdown and lose a bit of an edge every season they continue to play, but Kobe Bryant seems to be the exception these days as he is always finding ways to improve his game while continuing to compete with the best of the best at the shooting guard position in the NBA.
After a devastating playoff series loss to the eventual NBA champion Dallas Mavericks last season, Kobe Bryant did everything he could in the off-season to get his body back to 100% and also added another weapon to his offensive arsenal. It would hard to argue that Kobe Bryant isn’t the best one-on-one player in the league today, but he may become even more dangerous this season after taking page out of Dirk Nowitzki’s book.
Everyone already knows that Kobe Bryant has arguably one the most deadly shots in the game with his MJ-like turnaround or fadeaway, but now the Black Mamba has made that shot even harder to guard with a Nowitzki twist to it!
Kobe first showed changes he had made to his game with an amazing performance in the Drew League where he lit up the scoreboard with 43 points and hit yet another game-winning shot. Now it appears that the five-time NBA champion intends on using this Nowitzki-like fadeaway this season as he has already starting using the new-look turnaround in the Los Angeles Lakers first scrimmage against his own teammates.
Check out Kobe taking a page out of Nowitzki’s book in the video on the left-hand side of this post!
