Kobe Bryant rumors: Bryant guarantees LA Lakers will make NBA playoffs

Kobe Bryant rumors reveal an interesting guarantee. Bryant states that the LA Lakers will make the NBA playoffs this season. According to a report from ESPN on Thursday (Feb. 21), he doesn't even think that there is a chance of the Lakers missing the postseason party.

Bryant stated that, "It's not a question of if we make the playoffs. We will. And when we get there, I have no fear of anyone -- Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Denver ... whoever. I have zero nervousness about that." It's a bold statement from the All-Star, but nothing less is expected from Bryant at this point in his career.

After beating the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night (Feb. 20), the Lakers now hold a 26-29 record on the season. Though the Lakers have caught up to the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference standings, the team is still 3 1/2 games behind the Houston Rockets for the No. 8 playoff spot. That might be tough ground to make up as well, because the Rockets are playing lights-out basketball right now.

Maybe it's just fate that the Lakers host the Rockets at Staples Center in the final game of the regular season. It could really put the pressure on for both teams, especially if the game will decide which team makes the postseason and which one heads out on an early fishing trip. So far the Rockets have won 2-of-3 against the Lakers.

These Kobe Bryant rumors can be filed away with many of the other bold predictions that LA Lakers players have made about this season. Until they get within striking distance of the Houston Rockets, this is really nothing more than conjecture from a veteran who wants a shot at another ring.
