The Los Angeles Lakers are heading into their sixth game of a seven-game road trip against the Charlotte Bobcats, but they might have to take on Michael Jordan's Bobcats without Kobe Bryant who is suffering from flu-like symtoms.
Reportedly, Kobe Bryant missed shootout around on Monday morning in Charlotte with aches and chills. Even though Kobe has become known as one of the toughest players in the NBA today, the Lakers guard isn't sure whether or not he will be suiting tonight against the Bobcats.
There no question that the Lakers could use Kobe tonight in Charlotte as they always seem to struggle against the Bobcats, but it won't be much of a surprise to see the five-time NBA champion sit out this game as he could definitely use the much needed rest.
In his place the Lakers will most likely go with Shannon Brown to start at shooting guard. Last year when Kobe missed five games around this time in the NBA regular season, Brown came in for Kobe and played pretty well in place of the team's leading scorer.
Ironically enough, the Charlotte Bobcats are Shannon Brown's former team that traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers back in 2009.
