The on-again, off-again relationship between Kobe Bryant and his wife was on-again on New Year's Eve. The pair was spotted together (video embedded) on Monday night, exiting BOA Steakhouse. No, they hadn't trekked to New York City; after all, Kobe has another game coming up tonight, at home.
The couple was dressed to the hilt. For now, they look as though things are back on in their sometimes rocky relationship.
When asked by the cameraman how he was keeping his game up to snuff, Kobe Bryant answered simply "Lot of hard work, brother." That could, of course, could mean both basketball and his relationship with Vanessa.
After all, on Dec. 16, 2011, Vanessa Bryant filed for divorce citing the typical irreconcilable differences (for the no-fault divorce state of California, anyway). While Wikipedia says that both parties have already resolved all the issues related to their divorce prior to the filing, the divorce is still pending.
At the time of the filing, both parties requested joint custody of their daughters, Natalia and Gianna. Natalia Diamante Bryant was born on Jan. 19, 2003. Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant, was born on May 1, 2006.
Lakers fans will be happy to hear what Bryant said about a possible New Year's resolution. He responded to the question by saying "Stay healthy," something he will have to do if the Lakers are to have a solid chance at the NBA title.
