It may very well be cold outside, but do not let that stop you from visiting the Knoxville Zoo.
From Dec. 1 to Feb. 28, the zoo is offering half-price admissions with "Penguin Discount Days" in hopes of drawing in more crowds during these chilly months of the year.
The Knoxville Zoo has this to say on their official website:
“You will be surprised at how many animals actually enjoy the colder temperatures. Plus, with several indoor viewing areas, many of the zoo's residents can be seen cuddling up inside.”
Some of these “residents” include those in The Boyd Family Red Panda Village, a walk-through aviary-style exhibit that allows guests to see various red pandas. Other exhibits include the Stokely African Elephant Preserve, Chimp Ridge and Black Bear Falls. In all, there are eight animal sections in the Knoxville Zoo.
“Knoxville Zoo offers great family fun for everyone. Experience wildlife up close as you come face to face with more than 800 of the Earth's most fascinating animals.”
The zoo is open from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Ticket sales stop one hour before closing, so make sure you are at least there by 3:30 p.m. Also, if you are there after 3 p.m., the next day is free.
Excluding the $5 parking charge, half-price tickets are $9.95 for adults and $7.95 for children. Take advantage of this sale, because regular prices are $19.95 for adults and $15.95 for children.
