January 31st

A Trio of Talent at Avanti Savoia Experience the fusion of diverse cooking styles in only one class. Together, Chefs Karen Crumley, Jospeh Lowery Arnold Bondi have 75 years of cooking expertise to share with you. Class time 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Cost $50.

McClung Museum exhibit: Continents Collide – The Appalachians and the Himalayas. Find out how the Appalachian Mountains were formed and how the tectonic plates are changing the Himalayas. Admission is free.

February 2nd

Farragut Folklife Museum - Grand Reopening. The event begins with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6:00 pm. Lectures by area historians will begin at 6:30 pm. Preservation Pub on Market Square Mall – Great Barrier Reefs live performance. This high energy performance and unique music compositions have delighted jazz/funk fans throughout the southeast and the midwest. 10:00 pm – 1:00 am. Cover $3.

Civic Auditorium - Knoxville Symphony Orchestra Pops: Manhattan Transfer. This amazing vocal group brings Grammy award-winning songs and hits from 40 years in the music industry. Hits include “Birdland,” “Boy From New York City,” and lots more. Sponsored by Clayton Bank. Prices vary by seat.

Knoxville Museum of Art – After the Fall. This exhibition contains the work of Eastern European artists. Several have seen international success and are becoming widely recognized for their exhibitions. All artists in this exhibition received their training after the fall of Communism.
