The Tree & Vine co-owners Terri and Paul Karlsson appear to be a married couple who has things going well for them.
Before opening up shop, Terri was involved in nonprofit organizations and a Fortune 100 company. Paul was a global consultant for another Fortune 100 company and a Naval Aviator. In short, things were good. That is not to say they are not now.
Now they are the proud owners of The Tree & Vine, a store devoted to the likes of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
“We were interested in helping people eat healthier and simpler, but more interesting” Terri Karlsson said. What makes the store so special is “our knowledge of our products, the physical layout of our store which lends itself to hospitality, the quality and uniqueness of many of our products and our customer service.”
The Karlsson’s company has many products that are Mediterranean inspired, but still try to have strong ties to the surrounding areas of both store locations—Knoxville and Asheville. The store has hundreds of different products. Item categories include extra virgin olive oils, wine and balsamic vinegars, cookware and cutlery, kitchen and bar accessories, and Artisan foods.
“We are a tasting shop, so you get to try many things before you purchase them, particularly olive oils and balsamic [vinegars] and our products are very tasty,” Karlsson said. “Our products appeal to everyone since everyone enjoys great food.
“We also have kitchenware that fits in the smallest apartment to the most opulent kitchen as well as fabulous gift.”
The Tree & Vine is open in its Knoxville location Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.
