“Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest ye they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you”. Matthew 7:6
Know your worth as a person and protect that which is of value to you. This should include your heart, body, life, your time, and genuine friendships. So many people stroll though life never taking the time to discover their worth as individuals. To remain unaware of this knowledge means we will more than likely settle in most areas in our lives. When choosing a mate one may overlook clear warning signs indicating the relationship will not last or pose a danger to us. The same can be said for forming unhealthy friendships.
This scripture is highly profound as it warns us that giving something or sharing ourselves where it will not be appreciated or reciprocated may cost you something.
The most effective way to discover the worth of something is to consult the manufacturer, and ours happens to be Jesus Christ! Pray diligently to the Lord asking that He will make clear your purpose and your value as a person and have faith that he will do it. Once an individual has learned their worth it will become very easy to shut doors that need to be shut and receive and embrace the best for oneself.
