Keep your grocery budget in line by stocking up on seasonal fruits and vegetables

Have you noticed the abundance of tomatoes, eggplant, spinach and grapes in the produce section lately?  That's because these fruits and vegetables reach their peak in September.  It's easy to save money and still have fresh fruits and vegetables when you know what's in season each month and when you can get your favorite produce at rock bottom prices.

This simple list adapted from About.com helps you plan when to stock up on fruits and vegetables.  Keep in mind that prices are almost always lower when you shop at Memphis area farmers markets particularly when you are shopping for in-season produce.

This is also a great way to plan out what and when you want to buy to put in your freezer.
