Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption in Mission, Kan. is involved in an Outreach program. The unleashed team members are dedicated to the importance of spaying and neutering of pets. The group investigates calls of animal abuse and neglect and also attempts to educated pet owners and assists with food, water, vaccinations, proper shelter and so forth. Unleashed Pet Rescue in conjunction with Benefit Wines is offering wine for sale. Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot Noir and others are available for purchase, some by the bottle or case. A portion of the proceeds goes to the rescue to help with operating costs. The wine is delivered in bottles with pictures of adoptable dogs on the label.

View and adopt available pets through Unleashed Rescue at Pet Smart at 5810 Antioch Rd. in Merriam, Kan. The animals will be at the store on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The pets will generally include larger dogs and puppies when they are available.

Volunteers and fosters are needed by the rescue. If interested the rescue holds volunteer training on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. Foster orientation is held on Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. They advise that fostering even for only two weeks can save the life of a canine.

Stallone is a four month-old Labrador retriever mix that is chocolate and brindle in color. He is medium sized and came to the shelter on Jan. 7.

One year-old Munchkin came to the shelter on Jan. 5 and is a large dog that is brown and white in color. He is a Catahoula Leopard and Bulldog mix.

Bootleg is a two year-old Border collie mix that is black and white in color. He is a large dog and came to the shelter on Jan. 5.

Cracker Jack is a one and half year-old Rottweiler mix and a large breed dog. He is tan and black in color and came to the rescue on Jan. 3.

One and a half year-old Sampson came to the shelter on Jan. 3. He is a medium sized dog that is tan and white in color. He is a shepherd mix.

Rosie is a two years and eight month-old Australian Cattle Dog mix. She is a large dog and white and blue in color. She has been spayed and came to the shelter on Nov. 11 of 2012.

Unleashed Pet Rescue is always in need of supplies and money donations.
