Knitters need to step up to the plate and write an email to audiencecare@cptv.org. Contact Connecticut Public TV and let them know you would like them to put Knitting Daily back on television. They have dropped this show from their schedule after many years.
The host of the show is Eunny Chang along with Kristin Omdahl and Shay Pendray. Knitting Daily is a half hour TV program covering the fiber arts, knitting, crocheting, weaving and spinning. It is a how-to program showing; new skills and improving on old ones. You have the opportunity to learn “Quick Tips” (a new segment last year), new techniques, patterns and hear interviews with celebrity guests. “Make time for yarn everyday” is the catch phrase for Knitting Daily TV.
The show has in the past, broadcast in Connecticut on Saturdays around noon. The 13 new segments for series 800 are ready to air. Take a peek into "Making a TV show series of Knitting Daily". Planning is essential. I found out "Eunny Jang actually does plan and knit the step-by-step examples for the Getting Started and Quick Tip segments."
The series is done with a three camera shoot. The cast and crew start at 6:30 a.m. with makeup. With the actual production starting at 8 a.m. and finishing at 6 p.m., a long day. Then it is off to editing. That takes about a month. The show is ready for airing this month.
With all this hardwork and information presented for our viewing pleasure, why is it not being broadcast in Connecticut? Even if television watching at noon on Saturday is not your thing...(you could tape it), support the cause for those who do watch.
Just a reminder! Bayberry Knitting is having a 15% off Color of the Month sale, on Black Yarn. Black yarn would be perfect for a QR code scarf. They also have Red Dot Specials, select knitting needles 25% off (discount taken at register) and Booklet Blow-out 30% off. Stop by the shop located at 36 Whiting St. suite 1, Plainville, CT, 06062, 860.410.4250.
