Arne and Carlos bring a little outside in: 36 projects inspired by flowers, butterflies, birds and bees in the latest book of their creations, "Knit-and-Crochet-Garden". If you are not familiar with these two guys... let's just say they bring a whimsical innocence to their knitting/crocheting and this playfulness is carried out in their books. They have also published "Easter Knits", "Knitted Dolls" and "55 Christmas Balls to Knit".
This hard covered book, like their others are filled with photographs of colorful surprises. The guys went about creating a garden where none existed before. Using this as their inspiration, they knit and crocheted afghans, kitchen towels, hot-pads, cushions, dolls (Magnus Mouse, the Hippie Chics...) and other designs. Enjoy Arne & Carlos's dollhouse decor in the garden.
The easy 'Throw Knit' is all about the yarn stash and using it up with lovely results. 'Table Mats' is a knit pattern using ridges and joing them togther in various designs. Once you understand the concept, this idea can be used in many creative ways. If you love yarn bombing, then you will be 'Guerilla Knitting' because they believe "the future is handmade". Gloves for the hand tools. This is a great idea for those wooden handled tools that take a toll on your hands.
"Knit-and-Crochet-Garden" is a wonderful gift (visual eye-candy)...even if you or the receiver never knits/crochets a pattern and just looks at the photographs. There are embroidery and wind chime patterns included.
