Richwoods opened Regional play in their inaugural year in Class 4A against the Pekin Dragons at East Moline. They stretched it to 11 points before a late second quarter rampage by the Dragons closed the score to 27-24 at halftime.
Pekin took an early third quarter lead, but the Knights stepped the defense back up, hit the boards and led 38-33 after three. However, the balls weren't bouncing their way in final stanza as Pekin regained the advantage and held on to win, 51-46. They will now face Rock Island Friday night for the Regional title.
