Knicks rumors have JR Smith unhappy again. These latest New York Knicks rumors state that a front office decision to cut Chris Smith from the roster. He is the brother of JR Smith and it has been widely opined that he is only on the roster because of his older brother. According to a report from CBS Sports on Monday (Dec. 30), the intent of this move was to create a roster spot to sign Jeremy Tyler.
This was an obvious move to add size to a really depleted roster, but it apparently isn't sitting well with the veteran shooting guard that is still on the roster. He took to Instagram once the story started to come out and posted a very telling image. Upon the image was the text, "You know the sad thing about betrayal? It never comes from an enemy." It could certainly be a coincidence that this post went up immediately after the news starting coming out, but there aren't many people that believe that.
JR Smith hasn't been playing well at all this season, and is averaging just 13.2 points per game on 35.5 percent shooting in his last 10 games. For the season he is averaging just 12.1 points per game and has seen a heavy increase in playing time due to all the injuries for the team. This was a chance to really show that he could take over a leadership role, but instead it has become a throw away season for a player that won Sixth Man of the Year before.
Soon New York Knicks rumors could start including JR Smith trade talk. A change of scenery might make him more valuable in fantasy basketball leagues moving forward.
