Klehm Arboretum hosts 'Family Days' event April 13.

Rockford's Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden, 2715 S. Main Street, in Rockford will offer a "Family Days" event from 10 am to 3 pm, Saturday, April 13. The admission to the event is free for museum members and $10 for the public.

This is a spring event for the public and families are invited to engage with nature at Klehm. The events will be held the 2nd Saturday of each month. They will be offering themed activities for kids of all ages. The families can learn about nature outdoors through hikes, scavenger hunts and guided tours.

If anyone has a handicap they can ride in a tour cart that seats several persons, through the grounds. They will also after the touring, be served warm drinks, and cookies at the Visitors Center Galley.

The kids will be offered an opportunity to make a take home craft. There will be bird watching, when the bird come to feed outside the Visitor Center Gallery windows. The Klehm Arboretum is part of the Rockford Park District's grounds. They are also adjacent to the grounds of the Latrop School on Ogilby Road.

This year's theme will be a wildflower walk.
