On Wednesday, the KKK announced that they will be seen around Saint Louis County distributing flyers including places like Westport Plaza. Over the summer they received many complaints when drivers discovered flyers on their vehicles in Maryland Heights at Westport Plaza. In October 2012, a judge in Cape Girardeau ruled in favor or the KKK allowing the organization empowerment under Free Speech to distribute flyers as they see fit. The organizations' New Years Resolution is to increase activity beginning as early as January 2013.
The Traditionalist American Knights, as they are called, say they were quietly recruiting in Saint Louis County, but are quiet no more. One Klansman stated, "We have a petition to get the Confederate battle flag restored at Missouri state historic sites. The KKK is a largely misunderstood group. We are Christian, Patriotic and dedicated to preserving what is white culture. We have no hatred towards any race. That's the thing that's been portrayed about us, and there have been people who have used our name in the wrong way in the past."
There is one thing that I have never understood about the KKK, if they are so proud of their organization and stand behind their beliefs, then why do they hide behind masks?
