Kitten Rescue saves cats from homelessness and euthanasia

Kitten Rescue relieves cat homelessness and suffering

The homeless animal population continually rises. This trend is intensified by large numbers of people falling on hard times, unable to bear the most basic costs of pet ownership – housing, food and veterinary care. As a result, animal rescue organizations and shelters are hard-hit and need help more than ever.

Kitten Rescue is a Los Angeles area non-profit organization with a mission to save cats from homelessness, abandonment and euthanasia in animal shelters. Most cats rescued are from the L.A. City shelters in their “11th hour”. Their medical and social status is assessed and addressed to ready them for adoption into loving, responsible homes. Healthy, socialized cats are made available through weekly adoption events and private adoptions. Education in cat care, spaying and neutering and all facets of dedicated pet ownership is provided the public.

Kitten Rescue accomplishes a prodigious amount with the resources available to it, saving 1,000 kittens and cats yearly, including the injured and ill. But it always needs help. Donations are desperately needed to cover food and medical care. Volunteering by fostering a kitten or cat, helping with adoption events, fund raising or even socializing shy kitties are more ways you can improve the lives of homeless cats.
