Entertaining can be downright stressful. Trying to plan and prepare a menu that will “wow” your guests can be draining and take all the merriment out of an event. Just the thought of it may leave you wishing that you could just have someone do all the shopping, cooking and cleaning for you.
Sound familiar?
Up until now having a private chef has been inaccessible to the average consumer, but Kitchit, a new company that launched in September, aims to bring the fine dining experience to your kitchen. The site streamlines the process by helping connect consumers with a network of professional chefs. And these are not just your run-of-the-mill chefs. Kitchit’s roster includes alums from such highly regarded restaurants as The French Laundry, Gary Danko, Chez Panisse, Babbo and Per Se.
Today, Kitchit is rolling out its “Home for the Holidays“ curated menus to help consumers create an impeccable dining experience in the comfort of their own home. This limited-time promotion features all-inclusive dining packages created and served by some of the top chefs including Traci de Jardins, Executive Chef of Jardinière; Christopher Kostow, Executive Chef of The Restaurant at Meadowood (Three Michelin Stars); Damon Stainbrook, former Sous Chef, French Laundry; and Josh Skenes of Saison (Two Michelin stars).
The seasonal fares include such favorites as a classic turkey dinner; a gourmet Hanukah menu; and a rustic Italian Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes. Each menu can be customized to fit your needs – whether you are looking to host a small intimate gathering or a feast for 20. The packages also fit a variety of budgets with pricing ranging from $35-200 per person.
Kitchit makes planning a holiday dinner simple with an easy to use dashboard. To start, log in to Kitchit.com to browse the various packages, which include a full menu, pricing information and background on the preparing chef. Once you have identified a package that suits your needs, simply click “Book this Package.” At this point, you can indicate any special requests that you have for the chef. After you the meal is finalized, you can go to the event dashboard to manage your guest invites as well as track RSVPs.
“There’s nothing more rewarding to me than to cook for families – I love gathering around the table and sharing delicious food,” said Kirsten Goldberg, Chef, Kitchit. “I truly believe that cooking from the heart can ultimately enhance the experience with your guests, which is what attracted me to Kitchit.”
Good food should not be relegated to the few. With Kitchit, fine dining becomes accessible to the masses, and makes entertaining fun again.
