If one of your New Year's resolutions is to get organized, here are some easy and inexpensive tips for getting your kitchen in order. The kitchen is the hub of the home, where people gather to chat, have a snack or prepare a meal.
It can also be a place where clutter collects. Papers, backpacks, mail etc. actually have no place in the kitchen. Restore order to your kitchen by creating a place for everything and get into the habit of putting things away at the end of the day.
Baskets create a wonderful organized look on shelves and in cupboards. Collect medicines, vitamins, and first-aid needs in baskets. You can also corral soup, dip, and sauce mixes in a small basket. Baskets are a great organizational tool in your kitchen!
When organizing, remember to keep like items together in the pantry. Throw away old spices that have lost their potency. Donate unopened, unexpired canned goods that you honestly won’t use. Also, remember, less is more. Resist the urge to buy more than you need and keep your pantry shelves less cluttered.
