Kissing the Mermaid with Lynne Rossetto Kasper

PNW legend, Jon Rowley, and the Splendid Table's Lynne Rossetto Kasper

You know her as the delightful--yet smooth and seductive voice behind The Splendid Table.  Over the airwaves, Lynne Rossetto Kasper is a trusted guide who takes us on a culinary pilgrimage that stretches throughout history...and around the globe.

Forget the Food Network.

If you want to raise your culinary awareness, the pros tune in to Lynne.

As luck would have it, Lynne and her producer, Sally Swift are on tour with their new book:  The Splendid Table's How to Eat Supper. Perhaps you saw them over at Town Hall?  Or at a bookstore near you?

Sunday evening, Elliot's Oyster House was the spot for a decadent evening of award-winning wine and flat after flat of exquisite oysters.   Lynne may have been the star of the show, but locally harvested Olympia, Kumamoto, and Totten Inlet Virginicas & Pacifics took center stage.

Thanks to Taylor Shellfish, we slurped and sipped our way through mountains of oysters!

When oysters are really fresh & briney, Tom Robbins says a good oyster is like "French-kissing a mermaid."

I know exactly what he means.

The next morning, l left a note on the pillow....last night was fun!

Ahem.
