We have all heard of the "Ice Bucket Challenge" to raise awareness about ALS, right? Well, one other important issue has recently come to light, and that's animal cruelty occurring at St. Patrick's Parish in Stephensville, Wisconsin.
On August 10, 2014, the church hosted an event known as "pig wrestling" in which pigs were punched in the face, kicked, body-slammed, yelled at and thrown onto a barrel. After the event, all 37 animals were brutally slaughtered.
Even though this animal fighting contest was in violation of Wisconsin Crimes Against Animals Chapter 951.08, authorities refuse to take action.
One animal advocacy organization, the Global Conservation Group based in Watertown, Wisconsin is raising awareness by starting a "Kiss Your Pet Challenge" and asking people to post pictures of them kissing their pets on their Facebook Event page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/567752400018240/
Those who don't quite feel comfortable doing that or are unable to do so should consider making a contribution to the campaign and legal action against the church here: globalconservationgroup.org/donate/
