This musical trendsetter who has garnered nine GRAMMY® Awards; an American Music Award; 39 Stellar Awards (gospel); 16 Dove Awards (CCM); eight NAACP Image Awards; two BET Music Awards, a Soul Train Award, and known as America's GOSPEL MUSIC ICON -- Kirk Franklin had the honor to perform at Nelson Mandela's memorial service Tuesday in Johannesburg, South Africa, RCA Records artist Kirk Franklin performed live and was seen by millions around the world at the FNB stadium. Kirk brought the crowd to its feet with his gospel hit, “My Life Is In Your Hands". His song was passionate and moved on the hearts of everyone watching from TV as well. He finishes up just before President Barack Obama delivers his remarks.

Kirk told CNNOpinion "Mandela's was 'a heart modeled after God's hands" and "I pray my presence on stage today will reflect the love I have for this country. I know their struggle, but I also know that they will have victory as long as they embrace the heart of their hero."
