Kirby: Triple Deluxe will launch in North America on May 2, and will be available via the eShop and retail for $34.99.

The platformer has already been released in Japan, and has received very favorable ratings. The game follows the usual Kirby format, as Nintendo President Satoru Iwata explained during the recent Nintendo Direct.

“Kirby games have always been easy to pick up and play, but as Kirby fans know, there is a lot of depth. Kirby inhales his enemy, and copies its abilities, he gets little powers. He can do so many things with just one ability.”

During the campaign players can collect special items such as many different 8-bit keychains. Players can also find an item called the Sun Stone, which Iwata says will give the player a special bonus.

In addition the game will utilize the 3DS StreetPass feature which gives you improved items based on how many people you meet via StreetPass. These items will be thrown to the player by Waddle Dees and if the person you StreetPass has also played Kirby: Triple Deluxe, you'll also receive a special keychain.

Europeans can get the game just a few weeks after, with a release date of May 16. Once the game is released, you can check back here for a review, just click subscribe.
