Kipling’s #MyKiplingBag tour comes to Art Basel Miami Beach

Miami’s most fun and fierce were invited to experience the whimsical world of Kipling and celebrate the brand’s first pop-up in Miami Beach on December 4, 2013. Beginning with a ceremonial “unzipping,” guests were taken on an immersive, interactive journey through #MyKiplingBag.

After Kipling President Julie Dimperio and Kipling Vice President Kathy Hines “unzipped” the crinkle nylon covered doors, guests entered a world of color. An 8’ by 10’ inflatable, crinkle nylon replica of one of the brand’s most iconic styles, the Defea, anchored the room.

The fully branded pop-up space was filled with playful activities like complimentary on-site monogramming, makeup touch-ups at the VMV Hypoallergenics Beauty Bar, complimentary massages, an interactive gif booth, visual sensationalism, bountiful bites, and playfully artistic activities. Imaginative, individualized experiences like comedic personality readings stimulated the senses - creating a truly “out of the bag” adventure.

A surprise musical performance by Mike Deleasa, who was highlighted at #4 in Billboard Magazine’s ‘Next Big Sound’ of the month and has appeared on ‘Married To Jonas’, spiced up the afternoon before DJ Vito Fun took over. Throughout the afternoon, guests enjoyed complimentary Korbel champagne and monogrammed coconuts from Coconut Cartel while moving from activity to activity.

Through these experiential, participative encounters, Kipling celebrated each individual’s special connection to his or her Kipling bag and the introduction of the brand’s Monogram Collection. The excitement continued into the digital space with colorful content central to #MyKiplingBag shared across all platforms by guests at the event.

Following the Miami Beach pop-up, Kipling will head to Hawaii for the final stop on its #MyKiplingBag Tour for a night of luau fun. No matter the city, it’s bound to be a wildly quirky and fabulously fun time.
