Kiora's Follower is one of the newest "Born of the Gods" spoilers revealed today Jan 13, 2014 by Wizards of the Coast in a post to Instagram and the message "Introducing #MTGBNG uncommon, Kiora's Follower!" on Twitter. This uncommon Merfolk creature can help enable combos and clever combat scenarios for Simic players.

"She may call herself Kiora but I believe she is Thassa, the embodiment of the sea and empress of the depths."

Combined with the reprinting of Springleaf Drum, Kiora's Follower can help accelerate your mana especially with mana dorks like Gyre Sage, Karametra's Acolyte, or Deathrite Shaman. The beauty of Kiora's Follower is that it isn't limited to just creatures though. Kiora's Follower can significantly speed up an alternate win with Maze's End by letting you use it the turn you play it.

Kiora's Follower pairs nicely with creatures that have inspired such as Arbiter of the Ideal and Pain Seer. Of course, Kiora's Follower lets you abuse any permanent that requires tapping in its activation cost. A few other intersting simic colored cards that require tapping include Bow of Nylea, Elite Arcanist, and Vorel of the Hull Clade. Want to gain even more value from your activated abilities? Add in a Prophet of Kruphix.

How will you use Kiora's Follower?
