A Temporary Elf helps out at the Barefoot Chameleon.
There is a lot going on in Downtown Kingsport during this holiday season. The annual Santa Train and Christmas parade will arrive at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 21st. An "After Thanksgiving Shopping Spree" will also take place on Friday and Saturday, November 27 and 28 ("Black Friday" weekend). On this weekend, downtown shops, restaurants, and other businesses will be staying open until 7:00 p.m. and showcasing their latest gifts and decorations for the season. Shoppers can qualify to win a $1,000 shopping spree at this time. To qualify, just spend $100 in total receipts from any
combination of Downtown Kingsport retail stores and restaurants on these two days only (November 27-28). You can also have more than one entry, because each $100 spent equals one entry. (In other words, spend $300 to qualify for three entries.) Just take your receipts to any participating merchant. The merchant will highlight the total and date and then give you the appropriate number of entry forms. Just fill out the form and return to the merchant. The drawing for the shopping spree will be held on Tuesday, December 1. The winner will receive $1,000 in "Downtown Dollars," which can be spent only in Downtown Kingsport retail stores and restaurants. (Please note: Downtown Dollars have NO cash value; therefore, if you purchase an item for $23 and use $25 in Downtown Dollars, you will not receive any change.)
Numerous Downtown Kingsport merchants will be open until 7:00 p.m. every Thursday night until Christmas for your shopping convenience.
