Kingsfoil's lead singer says he’s lucky to have Frankie Muniz

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Kingsfoil is a rock band that started in 2002 which is composed of Jordan Davis as their lead singer, their guitarist and keyboardist Tristan Martin, their bass player Tim Warren and Frankie Muniz as drummer. The band is on a tour called “213.” On Feb.6 they made a stop at Gainesville to perform a two hour concert.

Q: Are you guys on tour?
Davis: "Yes, sir!"

Q: What is it called?
Davis: "It’s called the '213' tour."

Muniz: "We're very, very what’s the word?"
Davis: "I don’t know what the word is."
Muniz: "Like imaginative, I don’t know. We just wanted to come up with a very creative idea."
Davis: "Yeah, this one wasn’t that creative, however, if you search #213tour on Instagram or Twitter you can find all the photos that we’ve posted. That’s kind of what we do."

Q: What do you guys listen to while you’re on your trip?
Davis: "Listen to?"
Q: Yeah.
Davis: "We’ve been listening to Tegan and Sara’s new record a lot."
Muniz: "Love that one, actually it’s very good."
Davis: "What else?"
Muniz: "I’ve been listening to Childish Gambino.Whenever I’m in control, I try to put on the worst music I can find just [trying] to ignore them (laughter). I actually don’t like to listen to music when I drive."
Davis: "And, we also listen to a lot of books on tape (laughter). You don’t think that’s cool?"

Q: No, I didn’t say it is not.
Q: How does Muniz contribute to the work that you do? I always knew he was an actor and he’s the band’s drummer and that’s the first time I’ve seen him preforming?
Davis: "He contributes really a lot quite honestly. He’s a super, super hard worker. And, not only he’s a bad ass drummer but he’s really good at the business side of thing. So, we’re really lucky to have him as part of the band honestly."

Q: I know you guys are not in a label; how do you put on with that?
Davis: "We have our own label, we’re pretty pumped about that. We can do whatever we want. We can release music however we want. We get all the money from it so."

Q: What is the label called?
Davis: "It’s called Holiday Heart Records."

Q: Sounds good. I mean, I don’t want to scare you all but most bands don’t last long before they break up. So, what do you think is one of the biggest strengths that Kingsfoil has?
Davis: "I like to think of the songs and also just the musicianship. These guys are awesome I mean we don’t really want to talk about ourselves, but (laughter)."
Muniz: "We’re amazing (laughter)."
Warren: "It’s cool to … It’s cool that everybody [is] passionate about [the band]."
Muniz: "It’s hard to find that, it’s hard to find that within a group of guys."

Q: True. Where are you guys heading right now after Gainesville?
Muniz: "Douglasville, [Georgia]. It’s right outside of Atlanta."
Q: Drive safe! Thank you guys.
All: "Alright. Thank you."
