In late December Kings of Leon frontman and wife Lily Aldridge (yes, the Victoria's Secret model) announced that they are expecting their first child, due later this year.
The couple confirmed the rumors to People magazine saying, "We are thrilled to announce that we are expecting our first child together," later adding, "We can't wait to meet the new addition to our family."
He or she will join the band's growing brood of babies, giving lead guitarist Matthew Followill's son Knox a new playmate and cousin. He and wife Johanna Bennet welcomed Knox Cameron Followill in April of 2011, making him the first Prince of Leon. However, noted roadie, cousin and fan favorite Christopher "Nacho" Followill welcomed a daughter, Molly Belle, a year before that, and thusly kicked off the trend.
Younger brother Jared expressed his joy on twitter: "So excited to be an uncle! Congrats Caleb & Lily! If it's a boy, we gonna be hitting da club together every night! If it's a girl....church."
Caleb's father Ivan Followill also took to social media to congratulate the two and just recently wished his son a Happy Birthday as well: "I can still hear his little raspy voice 30 years ago as they brought him to the room @ the Hospital. We could tell he was ours by his voice." (Caleb turned 30 January 14, 2012.) Perhaps like father, like son/daughter?
