Kings Dominion is celebrating its 40th anniversary with the return of the Singing Mushrooms, the Strolling Clown Band, blue ice cream and a bunch of other well-loved events and attractions. The Doswell, Virginia park is now bringing back another guest favorite.

The Kings Dominion concert series is making its comeback, and Kellie Pickler is the first artist on the schedule. The Nashville recording artist will appear at Kings Dominion's Kingswood Amphitheatre on Saturday, July 26, 2014. The concert starts at 8:00 p.m. Park admission is required.

“American Idol” alum Kellie Pickler is known for songs such as “The Best Days of your Life,” “Red High Heels” and her 2013 win on “Dancing with the Stars” with dance partner Derek Hough. Kellie Pickler's current album, with record label Black River Entertainment, is called “The Woman I Am” and features several songs either written or co-written by Kellie, including “Little Bit Gypsy,” “Ring for Sale” and “No Cure for Crazy.” Kellie is sure to bring her unique blend of fun and spunk to Kings Dominion's Kingswood Amphitheatre.

Kings Dominion is well-known for its widely popular KingsFest Christian rock concert series. In recent years, though, there haven't really been any other concerts. This Music and Theme Park Examiner can recall the likes of Jimmy Buffett, Miami Sound Machine, New Kids on the Block (Am I giving away my age here?), Richard Marx, Martina McBride, Patty LaBelle and many others. If there are any diehard Kings Dominion and music fans out there, you probably remember attending a concert or two back in the 1980s and '90s. What concerts have you been to at Kings Dominion?

For more information or to purchase park tickets online, please visit KingsDominion.com. There is currently an online deal where guests can save $15 off of park admission, which is $64, by purchasing tickets at least three days in advance. There is also an online ticket purchase deal for $54. The $54 ticket is valid for any operating day.
