Kings defeat Flames 3-1 Wednesday

The Los Angeles Kings seem to be turning the corner after a rough start to the season.

On Wednesday night in Calgary, according to TSN, Jeff Carter scored a goal and an assist in a 3-1 Kings win over the Flames.

The Kings also got a multi-point game from defenceman Rob Scuderi who had two assists, and 26 saves from Jonathan Bernier.

The Kings also moved past the Edmonton Oilers into 10th place in the Western Conference and are one point back of the Dallas Stars for the eighth and final playoff spot. The Flames are four points back.

The Kings were the more organized team on Wednesday and their experience showed. Even though they only outshot the Flames 33-27, they had significantly more scoring opportunities. Their penalty killing was also very good as the Flames didn’t have a lot of quality scoring chances on their four power plays.

The Flames next play the Minnesota Wild on Saturday.
