Kingdoms of Amalur tops UK sales charts

While the sales data for North America isn't yet in, it looks like Electronic Art's risky venture into a brand new, fantasy intellectual property has paid off in the United Kingdom. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning holds the #1 spot in the UK sales charts, displacing the former leader, Final Fantasy XIII-2.

Amalur is the brain child of star-studded trio of creative names. Ken Rolston, lead designer, was behind The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Todd McFarlane, one of the founders of Image Comics, is the Executive Art Director, while R.A. Salvatore, author of many Forgotten Realms and Star Wars novels, provided 10,000 years worth of history and lore to the world.

Amalur has been receiving generally favorable reviews, and is available for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. If you're looking for something to kill even more hours on after Skyrim, give it a try.
