Square Enix may have revealed the resolution for "Kingdom Hearts 2" as well as the other games in the upcoming compilation, "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix." According to a report from Dual Shockers on May 30, the publisher disclosed that the final mix version of the second numbered entry of the series has been remade with full HD resolution support. As a result, it appears that players could be playing the game at a native resolution of 1080p.
Square Enix did not make the same declaration for the two other products in "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix." Both "Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix" and "Kingdom Hearts Re:coded" started out life as handheld games. For the latter, the development team decided to rebuild the cut scenes while adding some new sequences at the same time.
Along with the visual upgrades, one of the other main selling points for the compilation is the inclusion of the final mix versions of "Kingdom Hearts 2" and "Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. " The director's cut editions were never released in the North American region. Furthermore, all three products of the collection should also come with the ability to earn trophies.
Along with the first game, "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix" is designed to help new fans get caught up to the story of the series before the launch of "Kingdom Hearts 3." The upcoming sequel is set to wrap up the long-running story line that started with the very first release of the series. However, a representative from Square Enix has reassured fans that the franchise will continue even after the main plotline has concluded.
The remastered compilation was reconfirmed to be shipping before the end of 2014 exclusively for the PS3. It should be priced the same as "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix," which was released with a $39.99 price tag. You can find a remastered screen of the second game from the official Facebook page of the series with the photo near the top of this article. Amazon has the PS3 collection for pre-order with the next link: "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix."
