Tetsuya Nomura has provided a few updates regarding the development of two upcoming software products, “Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix” and “Kingdom Hearts 3.” According to a report from Gematsu on Dec. 25, the game director disclosed during an interview with the Famitsu magazine that the development for the second remastered collection should be faster when compared to “Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix.”
He went on to explain that the development team at the Osaka branch of Square Enix already built the system for remastered ports with the first compilation, which should reduce the development time for “Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix.” The aforementioned development team is also working “Kingdom Hearts 3” at the same time. Although both products are still too early in development to be provided with more specific release dates, Tetsuya Nomura stated that the company appears to have some time frames planned.
The “Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix” collection, which is expected to come out next year for the Playstation 3, features the remastered ports of “Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix” and “Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep.” The product also comes with cut scenes from the “Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded” handheld game. “Kingdom Hearts 3” has been announced as the final game in the current storyline of the series.
