Haley Joel Osment has provided a brief update on his potential involvement in the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One video game, "Kingdom Hearts 3." According to a report from Enix Origin on July 27, the actor appeared at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con. He was asked if he has done any work with the sequel to the popular role-playing series.
Haley Joel Osment seems to have signed some non-disclosure agreement with Square Enix as he mentioned that he can't talk about his involvement just yet. He did provide some comments about the series as a whole, praising fans for being extremely loyal to the franchise although the gaming company makes it somewhat difficult. Square Enix has released the video games over multiple platforms, which makes it hard for enthusiasts who don't own all the systems.
The publisher also opted to developed several spin-off titles instead of "Kingdom Hearts 3" after the release of "Kingdom Hearts 2." Despite the long wait between the mainline installments, the actor reassured fans that they won't be "disappointed" with how the sequel is going to turn out. For those unfamiliar with the series, Haley Joel Osment is the voice actor behind Sora, the main protagonist. He was only 14 when the first game of the franchise came out in 2002.
Square Enix choose not to reveal more information on the sequel at E3 2014. However, the publisher provided a taste at the general direction of the story at the end of the trailer for "Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix." The compilation features three games that all lead up to the sequel, which was previously confirmed to be the last chapter of the current story arc.
"Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix" is coming out near the end of this year on Dec. 2. "Kingdom Hearts 3" most likely won't be made available until next year at the earliest. You can find an in-game screen from the PS4 and Xbox One crossover role-playing game from the series' Facebook account near the top of this article.
