Square Enix, the publisher of "Kingdom Hearts 3," has revealed the pre-order bonus for the upcoming remastered compilation, "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix." According to a report from Gaming Bolt on July 25, the company announced that customers will be receiving a free upgrade when reserving the software product for the PS3 in advance. A similar promotion was offered in the two previous collections, "Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster" and "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix."
The limited edition of "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix" includes a special pin that can't be found in the regular version. The physical item features the two of the main characters, Mickey Mouse and Sora, along with the official logo. Otherwise, both products should feature the same contents.
The upcoming remastered compilation features three games from the series. Two of the titles are final mix versions of "Kingdom Hearts 2" and "Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep" that were never released outside of Japan. For the third game, Square Enix decided to remove the gameplay and only show the cut scenes for "Kingdom Hearts Re:coded." The company took a similar approach with "Kingdom Hearts 365/2 Days" with the first collection.
"Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix" has three different release dates for the major regions. It is coming out in Japan first on Oct. 2 and then two months later on Dec. 2 in North America. European countries will be getting the software product on Dec. 5. The price is going to be $39.99, which is the same as "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix" and many other remastered ports on the PS3.
A representative from Square Enix stated recently that the company is focused on "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix" instead of "Kingdom Hearts 3." As a result, it appears that the third numbered entry won't be arriving until 2015 at the earliest.
