A high-definition remastered port of "Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance" may have been teased. According to a report from Just Push Start on June 7, Square Enix recently uploaded the E3 2014 trailer for "Kingdom Heart HD 2.5 Remix." Along with showing some of the products in the collection, the publisher also added several hints at what fans can expect from the future installments on the series.
The text mentioned that a new act has opened while providing a small glimpse of a scene apparently from "Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance." The video game came out exclusively for the 3DS in 2012. Square Enix has not yet reveal any plans to port the title to the PS3 similar to the other installments. However, Tetsuya Nomura previously hinted that the a new scene added to "Kingdom Hearts Re:coded" will provide some sort of link to the plot of the 3DS game.
The same trailer also included some story hints at "Kingdom Hearts 3." Several individuals could be heard conversing about the Keyblade War and hinting at a location where darkness reigns over light. The small update suggests that Square Enix has started the voice-recording process for the sequel, which could mean that the project has progressed to a new stage in development.
Shinji Hashimoto previously confirmed that the company is not ready to reveal more information on "Kingdom Hearts 3" at E3 2014. However, he did hint that the video game could show up in other events such as the Tokyo Game Show. No release date window has been announced for the software product.
Square Enix did confirm that "Kingdom Heart HD 2.5 Remix" will be made available starting on Dec. 2 in North America and Dec. 5 in Europe. Japanese fans can pick up the same product two months earlier on Oct. 2.
