Last year Americans were graced with the release of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix which included the expanded version of the game that was released in Japan titled Kingdom Hearts Final Mix as well as Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories and clips from the Nintendo DS title Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Kingdom Hearts HD Remix 2.5 will feature a high definition remake of the original Kingdom Hearts 2.
It's no secret that the Kingdom Hearts franchise is an unprecedented success. Fans all over remember the day that the first game in the series made its way to store shelves. The brilliant minds over at Square Enix, formerly Squaresoft during the release of the first Kingdom Hearts, took a bold gambit when they decided to combine their cool and well designed characters with lovable and goofy characters from the Disney universe. The first and second Kingdom Hearts were met with great reception, however the American versions were left missing some content that was included in expanded copies that were originally exclusive in Japan.
Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix will feature cinematic cut-scenes that were previously exclusive to the Japanese title Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix. In addition the game will come with videos from other games in the franchise that will help set up the story for the highly anticipated Kingdom Hearts 3. It has also been announced that the new remake will bring something extra for those who choose to pre-order the title. Customers that put money down for a pre-order will automatically be upgraded to the limited edition of the game which will feature a metal Disney pin that features Sora and Mickey Mouse.
Kingdom 2.5 HD Remix is scheduled to release on December 2nd of this year. As well, the hard working development team at Square Enix have confirmed that the creation of this game will not impede the progress already made on Kingdom Hearts 3, which still has no set release date.
