It has become an ongoing trend for developers to re-release some of the greatest hits that graced the PS2's library with full-HD visuals and improved audio for the PS3. On Feb. 25, 2013, the PlayStation Blog announced that Square Enix is going to be releasing "Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMIX" for the PS3 exclusively. A two-in-one compilation of the games "Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix" and "Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories."

"This is the perfect opportunity for the "Kingdom Hearts" fans among you to bathe in nostalgia and rekindle your love for "Kingdom Hearts" in a way you never thought possible." Says Square's Community Manager, Benjamin Bateman. The game promises to introduce new content for each of the packaged titles including brand new enemies, weapons, abilities, missions, and scenes fans have not witnessed before.

The Kingdom Hearts series is an interesting association of two different universes, Square Enix and Disney, mashed together into a deep and very well constructed storyline. The game, ''Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix," included in this package was previously only a Japanese exclusive and thus many North American and European fans may have missed out on loads of side-story. With "Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMIX," players will be granted the opportunity to experience every episode of Sora's journey completely remastered for the PS3.
