King Street Patriots and True the Vote

The Monday March 4th 2013 meeting of King Street Patriots and True the Vote was held at their location in Houston, Texas. The subject of the night was to discuss a few of the current events locally and nationally along with recent information.

There was a great surprise to Mondays meeting thanks to one of the members having been given slices of the last known liberty tree, to be placed on display at the facilities of the combined groups. These slices are symbolic pieces of history that connect the founding fathers that met under these trees to King Street Patriots and True the Vote who meet in Houston.

Katherine Engelbrecht was first to take the stage and mainly focused on some local issues and the national issue on many minds this week which is sequester. Her common sense perspective was well received by those in attendance and would have large scale value if heard by all Americans. She went on to announce that she declined to speak at CPAC and that King Street Patriots would not have a booth there this year.

Next issue was addressed by Mark Antill who recently returned from St Lucie county Florida where True the Vote sued for information requested through freedom of information but was refused. The county of St. Lucie is willing to allow True the Vote to scan some 250,000 thousand plus documents of which many are double sided. Mark and a group of members are planning to travel to Florida to do the monumental task of scanning hundreds of thousands of documents from ballots to registration cards. This information will be vetted by members here in Houston and across the nation via member’s access to data bases containing these documents. Mark concluded with a subject we were discussing prior to the meeting, of the fact that True the Vote exists, and is watching results in fewer voting improprieties.

The director of public relations for True the Vote, Logan Churchwell took the stage next. He went into some detail of the last findings based on data requested by True the Vote that isn’t in Main Stream Media, which is voter suppression. After compiling the information received from six battleground states it was revealed that only one formal complaint of voter suppression was reported. The media would like people to believe that hundreds of thousands where unable to vote for reasons such as excessive lines during early voting. The findings of True the Vote prove otherwise. How reality differs from that which Main Stream Media presents. True the Vote was consistently and wrongfully accused of being a voter suppression group for reasons like their stance on voter ID’s. But the actual findings show that voter suppression is not an issue that affects elections. The complete report can be read here.

The meeting ended in its normal question and answer period that was fielded by all three main speakers.
