KING GEORGE III'S AMERICAN MILITIA

Some people argue that the second amendment only provides for a militia (armed with muskets). But the Revolutionary War was fought by citizen soldiers, not a government-created army, which didn't really exist at the time, so that is a precedent for private ownership of arms. Just in case.

Since the lawful government power at that time was the English monarchy, would the king have provided for the organization of an American militia?
