King Ferry shares tasting fees with food bank

KING FERRY, NY -- Some people complain about having to pay for a wine tasting session at wineries. Those who paid the $3 fee at King Ferry Winery this year probably did not.

The Cayuga Lake winery, which makes wines under the Treleaven label, raised $5,000 for the Food Bank of Central New York by sharing one-third of each tasting fee this year.

The Syracuse-based food bank supports more than 475 member programs in 11 counties and distributes the equivalent of 23,000 meals daily.

The winery is located at 658 Lake Road. Phone: (800) 439-5271.
