King Center celebrates 25 years with online auction

For 25 years, the King Center for the Performing Arts, has offered live entertainment of all kinds to the residents of Florida's Space Coast. The need for a performing arts center in Brevard County had been apparent for many years and, in 1988, the King Center opened. And over the years, it has presented musicians, comedians, plays, productions, symphony orchestras, ice shows, magicians, ballet, opera, and children's theater.

As part of the celebration, the King Center has decided to hold a special online auction. The items being auctioned are from a collection that began in 1988. From the beginning, artists and performers who were appearing at the King Center were asked to sign things. Years went by, and that collection is now over 400 items.

Some of the entertainers who signed items for the collection include:

  • Loretta Lynn
  • Bill Cosby
  • Tony Bennett
  • Engelbert Humperdinck
  • Chicago
  • George Carlin
  • Victor Borge
  • Debbie Reynolds
  • The Monkees
  • David Copperfield

To view all of the collector’s items and to place a bid, visit the special web site that has been set up especially for the auction. Bids will be accepted through February 28. Don't miss this chance to own a piece of entertainment history. Proceeds benefit future programming at the King Center.
