When Cathy and Lora at Destinations began talking about Andrew three scriptures came to mind:
Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
I watched as the Destinations family came together to help when a need arose. Destinations Active Senior Living apartments are located throughout the Las Vegas Area. They have joined forces giving car washes and a variety of fund raisers for Andrew. Their plea “Help US Help Andrew.”
If you are someone who looks for others to help I’d like to introduce you to Andrew.
Andrew Postle is a 16-year-old boy who has recently been diagnosed with osteosarcoma discovered in his knee. Andrew and his two brothers live with their father, a single parent raising three boys.
Osteosarcoma is the most common type of bone cancer, and the sixth most common type of cancer in children. Although other types of cancer can eventually spread to parts of the skeleton, osteosarcoma is one of the few that actually begin in bones and sometimes spread (or metastasize) elsewhere, usually to the lungs or other bones.
The current plan for treatment is chemotherapy. He has had surgery on his knee and will require multiple future surgeries to the knee and lower leg. He will be required to travel between Reno and California where he will be receiving treatments at UC Davis.
The road ahead will be challenging financially and emotionally for this small family. Destinations hopes to raise money and help this family get through the times ahead.
An account has been established at Wells Fargo Bank under the name Andrew Postle Forever Fund account 8444571445
