The all new Kindle Paperwhite from Amazon has plenty of new and exciting features, but the price will stay the same, according to a Sept. 3 PC Magazine report. The sixth-generation Kindle Paperwhite is improved over the previous generation, but it is still priced at $119 with Special Offers. Pre-order yours now on Amazon.
If you'd like a Kindle Paperwhite without Special Offers, it is $139, and it costs $189 for the eReader with 3G cellular connectivity. Interestingly, the sixth-generation Amazon eReader looks almost the same as the one released last year. However, it weighs two-tenths of an ounce less. This could make a bit of difference for users who have trouble holding things for long periods of time. On the back, the Kindle Paperwhite will have an Amazon logo, which replaces the Kindle logo.
The best news for eReader fans, though, is that this screen will be brighter and more evenly lit, which will make reading on the device an even more pleasant experience. The contrast is improved along with the touch screen. The upcoming Kindle Paperwhite is also faster, which should allow you to read more in less time as pages flip faster and books load more quickly.
Also, finally, the new Kindle Paperwhite will allow readers to browse through a book while easily returning to the last page they read. This is a first for eReaders, and many users will be thrilled with this functionality. Coming soon for this device is Goodreads integration and Kindle FreeTime integration.
This E Ink device is expected to be the best in its class, and at $119 with Special Offers, it is a great deal. Of course, it is tough to deny that the Kindle Fire HD is a great way to read eBooks too, and the cost is just slightly more.
Be sure to pre-order your Kindle Paperwhite now, and it will ship on Sept. 30.
