The Kindle Fire HDX Black Friday 2013 deals might be over, but that isn't stopping Amazon.com from enticing buyers with a new payment plan deal. The latest reports indicate that the online retailer is allowing customers to make payments in monthly installments so that they can get that tablet before Christmas Day 2013.
According to the Tom’s Hardware site on Dec. 16, Amazon’s latest payment plan deal allows customers to make payments towards a Kindle Fire HDX or HDX 8.9-inch tablet over nine months. There’s only a small percentage of the tablet’s cost paid up front, with the offer set to last until December 24. Currently, the lowest-priced HDX tablet sells for $229 at the website and features 16GB of memory, Wi-Fi connectivity and special offers which will run on the tablet. The lowest-priced 8.9-inch version of the tablet sells for $269 with 16GB an Wi-Fi as well. The payment plan is available for customers to take advantage of on the HDX tablets purchased through Dec. 24, 2013, according to the article referenced above. As of this report, it appears to be offered to customers in various installment plans with a yellow bar and link appearing at the top of the Kindle Fire HDX page.
The news arrives as Amazon continues to compete with the likes of Google, maker of the Nexus 7 tablets, and Apple who released new versions of their iPad and iPad Mini tablets in recent months. Amazon's Kindle Fire HD and HDX tablets continue to top their best seller lists in multiple categories across the website. The site had various sales on their tablets through Black Friday and Cyber Monday, one of which was a promotion associated with the recent relaxation by the FAA of policies regarding use of mobile devices during takeoff and landing of planes.
Amazon just recently announced another promotion on Kindle, although it features the 6-inch basic eReader. Those who want the simplicity of an eReader whether it is for themselves or as a gift to someone, can purchase the item for $20 less today. It's normally priced at $69, but today will sell for $49 on the website.
Customers are still able to take advantage of free 2-day shipping if they have the Amazon Prime service, although those without Prime can benefit from free shipping on qualifying items or orders priced over $35.
