Kimpton Hotels will open the Hotel Van Zandt in Austin's historic Rainey Street District in 2015. The four-star boutique hotel will become the firm's first property in Texas. The 16-story hotel will feature 322 guest rooms, event space, restaurant, lobby cafe and an expansive pool deck and bar. It will be located at the intersection of Red River and Davis Street in the heart of the Rainey District's thriving nightlife scene.
Designer Mark Zeff will oversee the interior design of the Hotel Van Zandt and its restaurant. Kimpton, which operates more than 50 boutique hotels in the U.S., will manage the hotel, which is actually owned by JMI Realty. The hotels in the Kimpton collection focus on creating one-of-a-kind guests experiences, with "life-enriching amenities and fun-meets-function touches," according to the company's website.
