Kimberly Ovitz Fall/Winter 2013 (Photos)

It was still -1 degrees outside but many fashionistas braved the cold and put on their best outfits and headed to Cafe Rouge in midtown for Kimberly Ovitz fashion presentation earlier today. NYFW is fully in swing, I started off my first fashion show here and it was even better than I expected. Lots of fur vests, jackets, hats.... Black, oxblood, creamy beige and military green colours plagued the room. Spotted in front row are Anna Wintour from Vogue, Laura Brown from HBZ, Honestly WTF, other editors from notable luxury publications and buyers from around town.

The runway show and music was amazing - exactly what was needed as the background for her collection which was inspired by her take on human psyche and natural defenses. Ovitz expressed her inner inspirations by using materials such as coated cotton sculpts and faux shearling lining for outerwear. She also presented her signature body-con dresses with interesting cutouts in dark teal.

Her collections were filled with structured, tailored jackets of darker tones and ox-blood silk dresses. The other highlights for me were the sombre coloured tie-dyed or as she calls it the hallucinatory printed flowy numbers finished off her collection. And I cannot forget to mention the fierce little buns hairdos - I loved!
