“General Hospital” fans have voiced their opinions loudly on the coming and going of Kimberly McCullough, especially in lieu of recent storylines. McCullough has held the role of Robin Scorpio for nearly three decades. In more recent years, McCullough would take breaks and return based around her schedule, but now the exits and returns are just months apart. According to a June 23 report from TVLine, Kimberly McCullough is set to return to “General Hospital” this summer. While the actual dates have not been released, it is believed to be happening in late July or early August.
When Kimberly McCullough left just months ago, Robin Scorpio left her husband and daughter to go off and help Jason. This is leading to speculation that Jason will be returning to town with Robin this summer. Rumors have been circulating about Billy Miller being cast as Jason, but it has not been officially confirmed. Fans are not keen on the idea of Miller playing the iconic role Steve Burton held for so long, but Burton is not returning, so the show must go on. Miller is already being referred to as “NuJason.”
Several of the “General Hospital” actors use Twitter to interact with their fans. Kimberly McCullough tweeted a photo of her stack of lines to fans over the weekend. From the picture, it appears the storyline will be involved and give McCullough plenty of time on-screen for the duration of her stay. Many are assuming it is going to involve Jason's return to Port Charles, but is he the only one returning with Robin?
Kimberly McCullough is only going to be back on “General Hospital” for a short time. This is probably just to help with Jason's re-introduction into Port Charles, and possibly create another storyline for Robin's character to return if needed. While the writers are smart to use McCullough when she is available, some long-time fans are not happy with all of the ins and outs. Hopefully this next chapter will be satisfying to fans this time around.
