In a new interview, Zolciak, who now stars in "Don't Be Tardy," which follows her family life with husband Kroy Biermann and their six kids, opened up about her former gig with Bravo and revealing why she's glad she moved on.
“I was made to look like a wine drinking, raging lunatic!” Zolciak told In Touch Weekly on Aug. 13. “I hated it!”
In Nov. 2012, after five seasons on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," Zolciak announced she was leaving the show in favor of her spinoff series, "Don't Be Tardy." In response to her exit, Zolciak's co-star, NeNe Leakes, claimed she had been booted from the series because producers no longer wanted to work with her. Zolciak, however, maintained Leakes' comments were lies.
Instead, she claims she simply wasn't feeling the process and it no longer suited her life.
“It got to a point where I felt like I was sacrificing myself for a paycheck. I never knew what I was getting into,” she explained. “I didn’t like half of the women on the show, so that made things difficult!”
These days, Zolciak is happier than ever, enjoying her life with Biermann and the kids and sharing their special moments on her own series.
In addition to caring for their six kids, which include twins Kaia and Kane, who were born in Nov. 2013, Zolciak is also taking on the duties of maintaining her giant mansion, which features a waterfall, poll and tons of indoor space.
