“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kim Zolciak is currently facing a surprising lawsuit from Kandi Burruss, her former friend on the show. Kandi is suing Kim over lost profits from the song, “Don't Be Tardy,” which she worked on. She claims that she deserves at least half of the profits that Kim made from the show, which totaled close to $100,000. However, Kim is shaking her head, and essentially telling her “good luck,” since the two have no written contract or agreement in place. And now, according to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report released on March 13, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kim Zolciak believes that Kandi is just suing her now to get more publicity, given her spin-off is about to air.
Kandi has had three years to sue Kim for lost profits and yet, nothing has been done. Of course, Kandi waits until now to file a lawsuit, and Kim believes there is a motive. “People will do anything for publicity! So funny yet so sad,” Kim revealed in a tweet after learning of the lawsuit. However, Kandi has a strong comeback for that. “The original version of that song was a joke. Not what people bought. The only thing that's the same is the title,” Kandi fired back as Kim became defensive with the pending lawsuit.
And just as the lawsuit was made public, the two women would have to confront one another on the reunion special, which was filmed yesterday. “On my way to shut it down!!!” Kim tweeted. Who do you think has the strongest case, given there is no document stating that the two had an agreement with the song?
